Faculty members and Dr. Cohen had agreed to take a dunking each time North scored. Dr. Cohen was assigned the fourth quarter. When North scored early in the fourth the sight of their principal, in a t-shirt and swim trunks, being dunked was all that was needed for the Phoenix to rise.
The crowd in the stands went wild. The principal was wet but the Phoenix were on fire.

After a total of three dunkings for Dr. Cohen and with only a half second left on the clock, North was leading by a score of 30 to 23. Richards had been held scoreless for the entire second half, up to that point. Let us remember that it is not over until it is over and somehow with only a half second left on the clock Richards scored a touchdown to bring the score to 30 to 29.
As a hush came over the stands and as Dr. Cohen stood dripping on the sideline the Lincoln-Way North Phoenix, inspired by the spirit of their principal, held strong and denied Richards the two point conversion.
Final score: Lincoln-Way North 30, Richards 29.There can be no doubt about the positive impact that Dr. Cohen has on the students of Lincoln-Way North. He is an inspiration to all. Both in school and out. Both dry and wet.
