Final Plans Approved For Misty Creek Townhome Development

The development will include four triplexes and ten duplexes.

FRANKFORT, IL — Final development plans for the Misty Creek Townhome development were approved at the Frankfort Village Board meeting on Monday. A special use permit, and a preliminary/final plat of subdivision for the development were also approved.

The applicant, Flaherty Builders, will construct a 32-unit town home development on the vacant 9.7 acre property, located at the northwest corner of Laraway Road and 116th Avenue, adjacent to Hickory Creek Middle School.

The development will include four triplexes and ten duplexes, according to Board documents. There will also be a new public road, Misty Creek Lane, which will connect to both Laraway and 116th Avenue.

Preliminary plans for the development were approved by the Board last fall. At that time, concerns were expressed about the location of a planned dog park.

Trustee Jessica Petrow said the dog park plans have been replaced by plans for a serenity garden.

"The new serenity garden includes a bench, wooden swing arbor and a butterfly house," Petrow said. More greenery was also added.

The plan commission had unanimously recommended the final development plans.
