Frankfort Business Combines Recovery, Sports Medicine

Aleck Pain to Performance is open in the historic Trolley Barn building in downtown Frankfort.

FRANKFORT, IL — Frankfort native Jake Aleck has expanded his business into "something truly unique" in downtown Frankfort with his sports medicine and chiropractic clinic in the historic Trolley Barn.

In October, Jake took over the upstairs and part of the downstairs of the old children's museum space for Aleck Pain to Performance, Jake's wife, Elizabeth Aleck, told Patch.

Expanding into "something truly unique for our area," Elizabeth said that the space combines an adult longevity-focused gym, a recovery area with cold plunges and saunas, and Jake's sports medicine clinic.

"Opening Aleck Pain to Performance in Frankfort was an easy decision because this community has always meant so much to me," Jake said. "The experiences and relationships I built in Frankfort helped shape who I am today, and I’ve always felt a strong desire to give back to the town that played such a key role in my life."

Jake attended Frankfort schools, including Lincoln-Way East, where he played football.

"My goal has always been to serve the entire community—from the kids in our schools to their parents and grandparents," Jake said. "I’ve been fortunate to work closely with the Lincoln-Way schools, helping students and athletes stay healthy, recover from injuries, and reach their full potential. Expanding Aleck Pain to Performance to include a gym and recovery space felt like a natural next step, allowing us to take a more comprehensive approach to health and wellness for the amazing families of Frankfort."

The gym uses AI-powered Tonal machines, Elizabeth said. The machines adapt resistance for each person, which makes workouts "incredibly safe and customized," she said.

The gym also offers small group classes, and one-on-one sessions.

"It’s designed to meet everyone where they are, whether they’re 20 or 80 years old," Elizabeth said. "The recovery area also plays a huge role in what makes this space special, helping people not just train but also recover and feel their best."
