Frankfort To Discuss Closing Kansas Street For Outdoor Seating
If the board decides to enact the closure, it could be in effect as early as May 29.

FRANKFORT, IL — The village of Frankfort will discuss temporarily closing Kansas Street between Ash and Oak streets in downtown Frankfort to allow restaurants to expand their outdoor seating.
A committee of the whole meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. May 28 to discuss the road closure. If the closure is enacted, the village said it could occur as early as May 29 and remain in effect until phase 4 of the Restore Illinois plan.
"The governor has stated that expanding outside eating areas is a way to keep residents safe and at the same time help businesses open. We support the concept," Mayor James Holland said in a release.
