FRANKFORT, IL — A Frankfort nonprofit is offering $50 Jewel gift cards to Frankfort families who have been negatively affected by the coronavirus pandemic. The Family Hearth General Store, 119 Kansas St., which is the storefront ministry of nonprofit Forming Faithful Families, is offering the gift card initiative.

The nonprofit said it is offering the gift cards through its Kind Deed for a Family in Need program and will provide 50 $50 gift cards to support Frankfort families in need.

James and Kathleen Littleton started their nonprofit in 2014 after receiving support from the community after James' leukemia diagnosis.

"Ten years ago my husband was diagnosed with leukemia, as the father of our 14 children, our youngest only three at the time," Kathleen said. "Word spread and we received many donations of gift cards and other support, even from complete strangers."

A few years later, Kathleen and James decided to start their nonprofit to help "strengthen families in the faith and provide various other means of support."
