GoFundMe Created For Family After Frankfort House Fire

Over $8,000 has been raised for the family after their home was damaged in a house fire Monday.

FRANKFORT, IL — A GoFundMe has been created for the McCurdy family after their home was damaged in a fire in Frankfort Monday. The Frankfort Fire Protection District said it responded to the house fire at 10:27 a.m. Monday, and the cause is still under investigation.

Over $8,000 has been raised for the family which consists of Brandon McCurdy, a pastor at Mokena Baptist Church; his wife, Rachel; their two daughters; and a dog, Wrigley.

According to the GoFundMe, Rachel and Wrigley were home when the fire started, but were able to get out of the house.

The fire district said no residents or firefighters were hurt in the incident. Despite firefighters bringing the fire under control within 15 minutes, much of the house was damaged and many possessions were lost.

"They have many immediate expenses and unknown decisions to make in the very near future," the GoFundMe shares. The fundraiser has almost met its goal of $10,000.
