Hearing Set For Liquor License Suspension
A hearing is planned to discuss a possible liquor license suspension at a downtown Frankfort business.

FRANKFORT, IL -- An administrative hearing is planned for Thursday regarding the suspension of the liquor license for the parent company of Elwood Alehouse, which opened in downtown Frankfort last year. An initial hearing will begin at 11 a.m. on Sept. 21 at the Village Administration Building, 432 W. Nebraska St. in Frankfort.
Frankfort Police Chief John Burica said that the hearing, which will be open to the public, was called after an alleged violation of one of the rules of the business' liquor license agreement that dealt with their package liquor license. That license, Burica said, allows people to leave with business with liquor if it is in a closed container.
The hearing was called "so the actual complaint can be heard," Burica said. "So everyone knows what is going on an understands."

DVM Enterprises, doing business as Elwood Alehouse, will likely have a spokesperson there to discuss the alleged incident, Burica said. The Village Liquor Commissioner and Village Attorney from Frankfort are also expected to be at the meeting.
A decision is not expected to be made regarding the outcome on Thursday, but Burica said agreements have been made during initial hearings in the past.
