Thief Posing As Candy Salesman Targets Area Businesses: Frankfort Police (patch.com) — Frankfort police are warning local businesses after a man posing as a candy-selling charity worker stole cash and an employee's purse from Magic Massage on La Grange Road. Investigators say he's used the same distraction tactic at other Chicagoland businesses and urge Frankfort workers to secure registers and personal items while the case remains active.

Frankfort's Annual Senior Breakfast Set For Sept. 16 (patch.com) — Frankfort seniors are invited to a free annual breakfast on Sept. 16 at the Village Administration building, with space reserved for residents 62 and older. Attendees will enjoy breakfast plus updates from village officials and a Q&A session, and must RSVP to secure a spot.
   

3. New Restaurant Plans Move Forward In Frankfort (patch.com) — Village officials in Frankfort have cleared the way for Coro Restaurant to open in the former Simply Smokin location on Lincoln Highway, approving key zoning changes and a liquor license. However, the board rejected requests for outdoor seating and a drive-up window over parking and traffic concerns, while the new spot plans a full menu from breakfast to steak and pasta dinners.
   

4. Illinois fire district warns about generators after spike in carbon monoxide calls (thecooldown.com) — After recent storms left hundreds without power in Frankfort, Frankfort Square, and Frankfort Township, the Frankfort Fire Protection District is warning residents about deadly carbon monoxide risks from generators. Officials urge keeping units 20 feet from homes, checking CO alarms, using proper cords, and never running generators in garages or enclosed spaces, even with doors open.
