Latest Frankfort Coronavirus Updates
Here are the latest local updates on how the coronavirus outbreak is impacting Frankfort.
FRANKFORT, IL — The new coronavirus outbreak in Illinois and across the country is having vast impacts in Frankfort, including the closure of several local businesses, the library, park district and schools.
As of Tuesday, the number of cases in Illinois is 5,994 and 99 people have died from the coronavirus. According to the Will County Department of Health, there are 257 confirmed cases in the county, and eight county residents have died. Of those cases, 134 are male and 123 are female; ages range between 5 and 90.

Governor JB Pritzker has also issued a stay-at-home order in effect until April 30. With this order, only essential businesses like grocery stores, pharmacies, gas stations and restaurants offering carry-out services can remain open.

Although park district facilities are closed, the Frankfort Park District will hold a virtual egg hunt at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 4. You can join in on the park district's Facebook page. MORE.
FIRE DEPARTMENT
Several local police and fire departments, including the Frankfort Fire Protection District, are seeking donations of supplies and personal protective equipment to help protect first responders. MORE.
SCHOOLS
Schools across Illinois, and in Frankfort, will be closed until April 30, per Pritzker's stay-at-home order. MORE.
BUSINESSES
An employee at Mariano's in Frankfort has tested positive for the coronavirus. The employee's gender, age and condition are not being revealed. MORE.
Several Frankfort restaurants are still offering carry-out, curbside pick-up or delivery.

HOSPITALS
Silver Cross Hospital is accepting supply donations of N95 and surgical procedure masks, Nitrile procedure gloves, hand sanitizer, grocery, gas or restaurant gift cards for employees, and bleach wipes. MORE.
CANCELLATIONS/CLOSURES
The Diocese of Joliet has suspended all normal religious services, which includes celebrations for Easter Week. The services are canceled until further notice. The Islamic Foundation of the Southwest Suburbs has also suspended its Friday services. MORE.
Frankfort Park District has closed all of its facilities and canceled all programs through April 30. In addition, park district playgrounds and the Bark Park are closed. MORE.
