Lincoln-Way District 210 Schools Ranked Among Best in State: U.S. News

Lincoln-Way East and Lincoln-Way North High Schools were ranked among the nation’s best high schools by U.S. News & World Report.

The magazine evaluated more than 21,000 public high schools in 50 states and the District of Columbia, and made state and national rankings based on assessment data and how well each school prepares students for college.

Lincoln-Way East received a silver medal, ranking 63rd in Illinois and 1,526 nationally.

Lincoln-Way North also earned a silver medal, ranking 78th in Illinois and 1,998 nationally.

“This accomplishment reflects our district’s commitment to academic excellence,” said Dr. R. Scott Tingley, Superintendent. “I commend our staff and students for this well-deserved honor of being recognized as top performers on the national stage.”

To create the rankings, U.S. News & World Report used a three-step process to evaluate schools, which included looking at state proficiency tests, comparing math and reading proficiency rates of disadvantaged students and using Advanced Placement data or International Baccalaureate test data to judge college-readiness performance.

“We are focused on ensuring that an education at Lincoln-Way means that students leave high school highly prepared for success in their college and career goals,” Tingley said.
