Longtime Village Administrator Leaving Frankfort
Jerry Ducay will resign from his role in Frankfort when he takes over as the city manager of Colleyville, Texas.

FRANKFORT, IL -- Jerry Ducay, the village of Frankfort administrator who has served in the role since 1999, will soon resign to become a city manager in Texas.
Ducay and his wife, Alice have been residents of Chicago’s south suburbs for their entire lives, but in a recent vacation to Texas the pair decided it would be ideal to eventually relocate there for at least the remainder of Ducay’s career. Just recently he was offered and accepted the city manager position in Colleyville, a city of about 25,000 residents in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
“It was an excellent opportunity, one I did not want to pass up,” Ducay said. “I was very fortunate to have been chosen.”

Ducay’s excitement over the new opportunity comes with the gratitude he has for his time in Frankfort. He has been a resident and village administrator in the village for 18 years.
“The thing I will miss most is the people,” he said. “It has been a great pleasure to have known so many wonderful people in the community that have been part of my family, personal and professional life. I’m grateful to count so many people here as friends.”

Before his time in Frankfort, Ducay was a village administrator for both Crete and Dolton, according to his LinedIn profile. He is a graduate of Thornridge High School and this summer will mark the first time in his life in which he will not be a resident of Chicago’s south suburbs.
In 2015, he was listed as the highest paid employee of the village of Frankfort. His salary at the time was listed as $156,129.
Since hearing the news of Ducay’s departure, Frankfort residents have praised the longtime public servant.
“Over the 14 years that I served on the Village Board and worked with Jerry, I never met anyone more competent and dedicated to the best interests of Frankfort at all times,” Todd Morgan, a former village trustee, wrote in a guest post published on Patch. “In my opinion during those same formative years in the Village history no one had a greater impact on Frankfort’s development and status in the region than Jerry Ducay.”
Ducay’s last day in Frankfort will be June 16. One day later, Assistant Village Administrator Rob Piscia will take on the role of interim village administrator, WJOL 1390 reported.
“I really enjoyed being part of the community in a professional capacity and in a personal capacity as a resident,” Ducay said. “I’ve had the great pleasure of having my home life and professional life blended into one and the opportunity to serve the neighbors I call friends.”
