FRANKFORT, IL — A New Lenox man was arrested and charged by Frankfort Police Department after officers found cocaine on his person and ammunition in his car where he was parked at Commissioners Park on Aug. 14, police said. Michael Kadar, 29, was charged with unlawful possession of firearm ammunition by a convicted felon, unlawful possession of firearm ammunition with revoked FOID and possession of controlled substance.

According to police, an officer conducted a check of Commissioners Park at 8:50 p.m. Aug. 14 to ensure no one was remaining on the premises while the park was closed. The officer saw a silver Honda CRV parked near the tennis courts and skate park.

Police said the officer approached the car and found it unoccupied. However, the officer could see a vaporizer cartridge in the center console cup holder. The cartridge contained a yellow-ish, brown liquid, which appeared to be a cannabis-based oil. The officer could also see two small pieces of plastic bag, each tied in a knot.
