FRANKFORT, IL — William “Bill” Staton, age 76, a lifelong resident of Lincoln Estates, passed away suddenly on June 21, 2023.
Bill was retired from the Frankfort Township Road District after 31 years, he served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam war, was a lifelong member of the Mid-Ohio Ford Club, an avid drag racer and local mechanic. Bill was loved by everyone he met and he will be deeply missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents Stanley and LaVerna (nee Strattman). Bill is survived by his wife of 56 years Judy (nee Miller), children Ron (Dana, nee Zhu) and Dawn (David); brothers Thomas, Rick, Bruce and Walter “Pokey” ; grandchildren Korie (fiancé Sam), Cameron, Dorothy and Holly, as well as numerous other family members, friends, and his loving pets Bandit and Shadow.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Aug. 27 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Frankfort Township building, 20701 Landings Pointe, Frankfort. Bill's final resting place will be at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Staton family in Bill's memory.
