STD Tests Ordered For Bar Fight Defendant

Courtney Bingham is accused of getting into a fight at Bulldog Ale House and attempting to bite a cop.

NEW LENOX, IL - A young woman who lives in Manhattan was ordered by a Will County judge to undergo tests to determine whether she has any sexually transmitted diseases, following her arrest July 19 in New Lenox at the Bulldog Ale House. Courtney Bingham, 23, is accused of getting into a fight with another patron at the bar, then pushing a police officer, spitting in his face and trying to bite him.

After Bingham was thrown in jail, her bail was set at $30,000. But several stipulations were attached in the event she came up with 10 percent, which is $3,000. A judge ordered Bingham, who had two separate citations in 2014 from the Elwood Police Department for underage liquor consumption and possession, to refrain from consuming any alcohol while her criminal charges are pending in Will County.

She must also obtain a SCRAM device for her automobile and follow all the regulations of using it. Third, Bingham must submit to sexually transmitted disease testing at the Will County Adult Detention Facility. The results of her STD tests "are to be given to Judge (Dave) Carlson with a courtesy copy to the State's Attorney's Office," court documents state.

At the time of her arrest at Bulldog, New Lenox Police said Bingham got into a fist fight with another woman in the bar shortly after midnight. She is accused of striking another patron inside the bar, and then when the New Lenox Police officers arrived, she ran from the bar, police say.
