Section Of Old Plank Road Trail Closes For Bridge Replacement

FRANKFORT, IL — A section of the Old Plank Road Trail from Spencer to Schoolhouse roads is closed for the replacement of the Jackson Branch bridge, according to the Forest Preserve District of Will County.
The preserve said the project is expected to be finished by the end of the year, and the closure will remain in effect until the project is completed.
The Old Plank Road Trail travels from Joliet east through New Lenox, Frankfort, Matteson, Park Forest and Chicago Heights, according to the preserve. The forest preserve, the Village of Frankfort, Rich Township, the Village of Park Forest and the Village of Matteson jointly own and manage parts of the trail.
