FRANKFORT, IL — Chez Therese, a new specialty physical therapy center, is now open in Frankfort. Owner Lauren Mansell, who has been a physical therapist for 13 years, said most of what her and her team treat is "specialty," or things you don't think about physical therapy treating.

The clinic, at 20500 S. La Grange Road, Suite 5, deals with issues involving the pelvic floor, lymphatic system and oncology.

The clinic's name, Chez Therese, is after Mansell's grandmother's antique store which was located in Beverly. Her grandmother passed in 2019, Mansell said, but feels her grandmother's "warm, beautiful energy" at the clinic.

"This is my way to honor her and bring my love of caring for others, as she cared for me, to our community," she said.

Mansell has experience treating women for pelvic floor therapy, specifically after childbirth. She has worked for Northwestern's Integrated Pelvic Health Program, "which began my journey in academic specialty care," she said.

She later worked for the University of Chicago, and has published her work, spoke at symposiums and on radio shows, and taught clinicians from across the globe.

"I have been so lucky to have been able to share my passions in many ways," Mansell said. "People from our community (and much farther) were driving to see me in Chicago, so it only made sense to figure out a way to provide academic care in our community."

Mansell's husband works for the Village of Frankfort, and her two children attend Frankfort schools.

"Frankfort is our home," she said, adding that it was obvious to open up her clinic in the town.

The clinic also offers a hippotherapy program, which uses a horse for physical therapy, at The Ranch in Frankfort. Mansell said she hopes to have a full program available by the spring.

Other clinic offerings include lactation counseling, a registered dietician, wellness and health coaching, one-on-one Pilates and yoga, dry needling, cupping and a spine specialist.

"We treat once, maybe twice a week so that patients can use what we teach them at home," Mansell said. "We want patients being active at home with their loved ones."

"We provide lifestyle medicine education for whole person wellness. We have the most amazing support team to help our patients achieve their goals," she added.
