Windy Hill Park Improvements To Start In Spring 2024
The park district received a state OSLAD grant in 2022 for the project.
FRANKFORT, IL — The Frankfort Park District has finalized the design and received approval from grant staff for the Windy Hill Park improvements, according to the park district newsletter.
The park district was awarded a $174,000 grant in 2022, as part of the State of Illinois for Open Space Land Acquisition and Development Grant.
The park is located along Old Plank Road Trail, east of Pfeiffer Road. Residents have also provided input for plans for the park. Windy Hill playground was first installed in 2002.

The total cost of the project is $350,000, and construction should start in spring 2024.
Improvements include a playground, fitness area, solar-powered charging stations and foot paths, according to the park district.
