55 Coronavirus Cases, 1 Death At Geneva Nursing Home: IDPH
The Bria of Geneva facility has had the largest coronavirus outbreak of any long-term-care facility in Kane County, IDPH data shows.
GENEVA, IL — More than four dozen people at the Bria of Geneva rehabilitation and senior living facility are presumed to have the new coronavirus and one person has died, according to statistics from the Illinois Department of Public Health.
IDPH data shows 55 people at the Geneva facility have the coronavirus, making it the site of the largest outbreak of any long-term-care facility in Kane County. Only seven senior living facilities in Illinois have reported more cases of the coronavirus, the data shows.

Bria of Geneva is one of 15 facilities operated by Bria Health Services, based in Skokie. Bria Health Services also operates facilities in Belleville, Burnham, Cahokia, Chicago, Chicago Heights, Palos Hills, Waukegan and Westmont, as well as Milwaukee.
In an email to Patch Tuesday, Bria Health Services CEO Daniel Weiss shared condolences for the friends and family of the Bria of Geneva resident who died and paid tribute to the "heroic staff who courageously work on the front lines every day to care for the most vulnerable of our society."

Weiss said the IDPH's website and data offers "a limited snapshot in time" about the number of cases and deaths at each facility. Bria Health Services is reporting confirmed cases to local and state authorities within the required time, Weiss said, but he cautioned that the data is "often outdated even at the time of posting."
Kane County Coroner Confirms 15 Coronavirus Deaths In 1 Week
Kane County Coroner Rob Russell announced Monday that 15 people in Kane County died from the coronavirus over the last week, including 10 deaths over the weekend. Of those 15 deaths, eight were Geneva residents, according to the coroner’s office.
