Kane County Coroner Confirms 15 Coronavirus Deaths In 1 Week

More than 50 people in Kane County have died of the new coronavirus, according to Kane County Coroner Rob Russell.

KANE COUNTY, IL — Fifteen people in Kane County died from the new coronavirus during the last week, with 10 deaths reported over the weekend, Coroner Rob Russell announced Monday. More than 50 people in the county have died of the virus since early March, when the county’s first case was reported, according to the coroner.

The 15 deaths reported between April 21 and April 27 represent a 42 percent increase over the total number of deaths reported between March 23 — when the county recorded its first death from the coronavirus — and April 19, Russell said in a news release.

More than 1,100 people in Kane County have tested positive for the coronavirus as of Sunday, according to statistics from the county's health department.
