GENEVA, IL — Construction begins Monday in Geneva to extend Kautz Road to meet Fabyan Parkway.
Currently ending at Route 38, Kautz Road is being extended south to Fabyan Parkway as part of Geneva's southeast master plan development business park.
The Kane County Division of Transportation will oversee the construction, which will take place at Fabyan Parkway and Louis Bork Drive. No traffic signals will be installed at the start of the project, so the intersection will be controlled by a stop sign, according to a news release.
The project also includes widening Fabyan Parkway for additional acceleration and deceleration as well as turning lanes.
Officials said lane closures may be necessary to accommodate construction. Drivers should expect delays.
Construction is expected to be completed by mid-July, weather permitting.
