GENEVA, IL — Two Geneva highways will be resealed as part of the Kane County Division of Transportation's annual routing and crack seal program.
The program began this week on four highways, including the extended intersection of Kirk Road and Fabyan Parkway in Geneva.
The crack seal program is part of the county's ongoing roadway maintenance efforts to help extend pavement life by sealing roadway cracks. The treatment helps prevent water from penetrating the pavement structure and protects roadways from freeze-thaw damage during the winter months.
Work is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Fridays. Crews will progress from one road segment to another throughout the project. The highways will remain open during construction, but lanes will be reduced to one lane daily to accommodate construction.
The entire program is expected to be completed between six and eight weeks, weather permitting.
