
Jeanette Marie (Nelson) Anderson, 100, of Geneva, died Thursday, Dec. 16, at Rosewood Care Center, St. Charles.
She was born on July 6, 1910, on a farm in Winfield Township, DuPage County, the daughter of Emil and Mary (Klein) Nelson. She and Herbert A. Anderson were married on Nov. 29, 1942, in St. Charles.
Jeanette grew up on a farm where Fermilab is now and attended Round Grove Community School. She graduated from Batavia High School in 1927.

Her working life included jobs at the DuPage County Recorder of Deeds office and at the DuPage Title Company. After Jeanette married Herbert Anderson, they lived on the Anderson family farm, now also a part of Fermilab, and she was a farm wife and mother.
Herb died in 1966, and after the farm was purchased for Fermilab in 1968, she moved to Geneva.

Jeanette was a charter member of the Batavia Historical Society and had volunteered for the Geneva Historical Society when the museum was in Wheeler Park.
She was a member of Geneva Lutheran Church and when physically able had been a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and at Elgin State Hospital. She and her friend Eleanor Johnson spent many hours visiting members of the church who were homebound or in nursing homes.
Jeanette is survived by her son, Ronald H. Anderson and his life partner Wayne Bauer of Hampshire, as well as by many nieces and nephews, and their families.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert A. Anderson, and by her two sisters, Edna Hensel and Agnes Perrow, in addition to brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Arrangements were made by Moss Family Funeral Home, 209 South Batavia Ave. Batavia. Interment was private.
