Investigation Continues Into Geneva Home Invasion

Geneva police are asking for the public's help to track down the suspects.

GENEVA, IL -- Geneva police are continuing to ask for the public’s help following a possible home invasion that occurred last month in the 100 block of Aberdeen Court in the city’s east side, police said.

Officers responded to the townhome on Sept. 30 following a report of two men allegedly entering a unit by breaking down the front door, according to a Geneva Police Department press release. Two residents who were home during the incident told police that one of the men allegedly had a gun when entering the townhome.

The two men left the home shortly after breaking in. Noone was injured and no property was taken during the incident, according to the news release. The suspects are described as two black men. The first man is about 5-feet 11-inches tall and was dressed in all black clothing while the second suspect wore a dark-colored sweatshirt and dark-colored pants.

The home invasion remains under investigation, said Geneva commander Julie Nash in an e-mail last week. Police could not speculate at the time, she said, if the attack was random or targeted.

Anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity that evening or has any information that may assist with the case should call the Geneva Police Department Investigations Division at 630-232-4736.
