'Bans Off Our Bodies' Pro-Choice Rally Set For Saturday In Geneva

"Together we will send a strong message that we're not backing down," event organizers said. "Supporting abortion access must be protected."

GENEVA, IL — From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in Geneva, locals will gather to protest the Supreme Court's leaked draft opinion to overturn Roe v. Wade.

On May 2, Politico, citing a leaked draft opinion of a coming ruling, reported the 1973 Supreme Court ruling would be struck down, a decision that would strip abortion of Constitutional protections in all 50 states. The ruling on Roe v. Wade isn't expected until June or July, according to the Politico report.

"Roe has always been the floor, not the ceiling," reads a description of the rally. "Many Black, Indigenous, Latinx, and other people of color experience barriers to accessing abortions. The people in your community and across the country deserve the power and freedom to make their own personal reproductive health care decisions."
