Boy Saved from Drowning at Batavia Pool
The staff at Harold Hall Quarry Beach pulled the young boy from the water Wednesday afternoon.

The quick actions of staff at a local pool is being credited with saving the life of a young boy Wednesday.
Paramedics were called to Harold Hall Quarry Beach, 400 S. Water St. in Batavia at 2:34 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a possible drowning, according to a city of Batavia press release.

When they arrived, they found a young boy out of the water and being treated by pool staff. The boy was conscious and breathing.
He was taken to Delnor Community Hospital.

The boy was taking a swimming test when he went under water. Staff immediately pulled the boy from the pool and administered first aid.
“The quick actions and response of the pool staff contributed to the safety of the young swimmer,” according to the news release.
