County Resurfacing Projects to Start This Week In Geneva

The Kane County Division of Transportation will begin tackling roadway projects in Geneva on May 21.

KANE COUNTY, IL – The Kane County Division of Transportation is scheduled to start its annual road resurfacing program, which will include four projects in Geneva. Work is scheduled to begin the week of May 21, weather permitting. Construction work hours will be from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday with temporary daily lane closures and flaggers directing traffic, according to the Kane County Division of Transportation press release.

The resurfacing process is part of an annual maintenance to increase the longevity of county roads.

  • Fabyan Parkway west of Carriage Drive to Kingsland Drive: The roadway will undergo resurfacing, curb and gutter
  • Fabyan Parkway from 750 feet east of bent tree drive to 1,200 feet east of Bent Tree Drive: The roadway will undergo asphalt patching.
  • Kaneville Road north of Fabyan Parkway to Peck Road: The roadway will be resurfaced.
  • Peck Road from Kaneville Road to Route 38: The roadway will undergo resurfacing, curb and gutter.

The roads will remain open during construction but may include temporary daily lane closures and flaggers. Motorists should expect long delays when traveling through the work areas and should add additional time to their commutes, transportation officials said.

Drivers are asked to reduce their speed, watch for construction workers and vehicles entering or leaving the site, obey flaggers and comply with traffic control devices within the work zone. People may want to consider the use of alternate routes while this work is being completed.
