Dan Ugaste, Geneva Republican, Sworn In To IL House General Assembly

In the upcoming spring session and General Assembly, Ugaste plans to push for lower taxes, increased jobs and limiting executive overreach.

GENEVA, IL — Geneva Republican Dan Ugaste was sworn in Wednesday to the 103rd General Assembly to represent the new 65th District. It's his third term in office.

A Republican serving in the Illinois House of Representatives since 2019, Ugaste will represent parts of Elburn, Lily Lake, Campton Hills, South Elgin, Geneva, St. Charles and Wayne, in Springfield.

In the upcoming spring session and General Assembly, the state representative will push for lower taxes, increased jobs and limiting executive overreach, according to a news release.

"Following three years of executive rule under Governor Pritzker, I will recommit to asserting the authority of the General Assembly and limiting executive overreach from the Governor’s mansion," Ugaste said in a statement. "I also look forward to working with my House colleagues to find solutions for the pressing issues our state faces, including lack of opportunity, high taxes, and public safety."

Ugaste said he is also committed "to end the culture of corruption in Illinois."

"Illinoisans have been paying the high price of corruption for decades, which decreases our economic growth and discourages investment in our state," he said. "We need to eliminate conflicts of interest and give citizens more control of their government."
