Demolition Begins On Peck Road Farmhouse In Geneva

GENEVA, IL — Demolition on a Peck Road farmhouse, previously used for public safety training sessions, began Wednesday, officials said.

The house and property, located at 64 Peck Road on Geneva's west side, were purchased by the city, and on March 20, City Council approved a demolition contract with Fowler Enterprises.

The home, a single-family house with a wood frame, should be knocked down in one day, and the overall project is expected to be completed by the end of March, officials said Wednesday.

After the demolition, the contractor will haul away debris, remove the house's foundation and sidewalks and backfill the hole.

All of Peck Road is expected to remain open throughout the entire process, according to the city.
