Dogs Alert Batavia Homeowner to Garage Fire
No one was injured in the Sunday afternoon garage fire.

Ashes from an outdoor fire pit disposed of in a bucket in a garage likely caused a fire in Batavia Sunday afternoon, according to a Batavia Fire Department press release.
Firefighters responded to the blaze at 830 Morris Court at 1:58 p.m. An occupant at the home was alerted to the blaze by his dogs and went outside to find his garage was on fire, fire officials said.
When firefighters arrived, they found light smoke coming from a closed garage door. They were able to quickly extinguish the blaze and ventilate the house.
