GENEVA, IL — A 45-year-old Geneva man is facing an attempted murder charge, among other charges, after he was arrested following what police described as a domestic dispute with a woman on Dec. 22.
Police responded to a residence on Syril Drive around 6:40 p.m. after someone at the house called in a domestic disturbance. When officers arrived, they learned Craig G. Chaney and the woman were involved in a verbal altercation that turned physical.
Police allege Chaney pinned the woman down and put his hands around her neck on two separate occasions. She broke free only after grabbing scissors and stabbing the man in the arm, according to officials.
