Fines Issued After Swedish Days Compliance Checks

Two Geneva businesses have agreed to pay $1,000 in fines for selling alcohol to minors during police compliance checks.

GENEVA, IL -- The Geneva Police Department conducted compliance checks at 18 establishments and beer gardens across the city during the Swedish Days festival and two businesses were busted for selling alcohol to a minor, the Kane County Chronicle reports. Both Hammars East Side Liquors, 1439 E. State Street, and 7-Eleven, 1105 Randall Court, have agreed to pay $1,000 in fines in light after being cited on June 22.

The businesses have also agreed not to sell alcohol for 24 hours -- from 2 a.m. on Aug. 27 to 1:59 a.m. on Aug. 28, according to the Kane County Chronicle.
