Fire Hydrant, Water Valve Will Be Installed On Third Street
Southbound Third Street lanes will close for a majority of each day this week to allow workers to complete the project.

GENEVA, IL — A fire hydrant and water valve will be installed on Third Street beginning Tuesday, officials said.
As a result of the project on Third Street, south of the Union Pacific-West train tracks, both southbound lanes will be shut down beginning at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday. The closure will be in place from the tracks to Cheever Avenue until Friday.
A detour will be in place to shift traffic on southbound Third Street into the northbound turn lane across the tracks, according to city officials.

Officials noted construction will take place during daytime hours, allowing for all lanes of traffic to reopen in the late afternoon in time for the evening rush hour.
The project is weather-dependent and may be subject to change, officials said.
