Fosters Needed Urgently – Can Arrive 2/7

It is dangerously snowy and icy at the shelter, and these dogs are still waiting on concrete floors for a chance to come north to safety. They are scheduled to arrive at Safe Haven Dog Rescue on 2/7, but this transport can only happen if we have confirmed, committed foster homes in place.
Without fosters, they cannot come. Time is running out. These dogs do not deserve to spend another night in snowy and icy conditions. They deserve warmth, comfort, and the chance to decompress in a home.

Meet the dogs who need fosters:
Waylon #25249Male, Lab mix, approximately 2 years old, approximately 45 lbs.Waylon is a calm, smart, and well-mannered dog. He is excellent on a leash, treat motivated, and easy to train. He tries hard to keep his kennel clean, plays well with male and female dogs, and is good with kids. He is neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, heartworm negative, and on prevention.

Happy #24156Male, Yellow Lab mix, approximately 2.5 years old, approximately 60 lbs.Happy was found emaciated on a rural road and likely dumped. He is now healthy, affectionate, and ready for a real home. He walks easily on a leash, plays well with dogs large and small, loves human attention, and is food motivated. He is neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and on prevention.

Frost #25286Male, mixed breed, approximately 12 weeks old, approximately 15 lbs.Frost is one of the last puppies from a litter of nine. He is playful, social, and full of puppy energy. He is vaccinated (two rounds plus Bordetella), dewormed, and on heartworm prevention.

Willow #25283Female, mixed breed, approximately 12 weeks old, approximately 21 lbs.Willow is sweet, playful, and affectionate. She loves to play and then settle in to rest. She is vaccinated (two rounds plus Bordetella), dewormed, and on heartworm prevention. Frost and Willow can be fostered separately.

Conrad #25197Male, mixed breed, approximately 10 months old, approximately 40 lbs.Conrad is the last of a litter of three. He was left behind simply because he is a black dog, which are often overlooked in shelters. The rescue that took his siblings could not take another black dog, and Conrad was the one who had to wait. He is neutered, loves people and cuddle time, plays well with dogs of all sizes and both genders, is treat motivated and eager to learn, and is up to date on vaccines, dewormed, and on heartworm prevention.

Tootsie RollFemale, Chorkie (Chihuahua/Yorkie mix), approximately 1 year old.Tootsie Roll looks more like a Yorkie and is sweet and social. She is friendly, does well with other dogs including large dogs, and is good with cats.
