Gas Gauge: Average Price of a Gallon Jumps 18 Cents
Yikes! The price has ballooned again, just in time for the spring season.

We have to be a bit grateful that the price went up on the back end of spring break.
Anyone who didn't do a probably spent plenty of money at the pumps this past week, but not as much as they might this week if traveling a similar distance.
Since the March 28 Gas Gauge, the average price of a gallon of regular in Geneva went from $3.66 to $3.84.

The best price spotted between about 7:45 and 8:15 a.m. today (Monday) was $3.75 at Meier—and Meier was the winner by a long shot. The next-best were $3.79 at BP on the West Side and Shell on the East Side. According to Gas Buddy, Shell is now up to $3.89 this evening.
Paula and I noticed that the price at Citgo on the East Side went from $3.79 when we filled up on Sunday night to $3.89 when we drove by the next morning.

AAA's Fuel Gauge Report shows that premium gasoline already is more than $4 a gallon in Illinois.
The big jump is blamed on the usual suspects. Demand is up in the U.S. and China. Fighting in Libya and general angst globally; oil rose to a 30-month high in New York last week.
