Geneva 304 Receives Award for Academic Excellence

Geneva is one of only 60 school districts in Illinois to be recognized this year by SchoolSearch.

Geneva School District has once again been awarded the SchoolSearch Bright A+ Award for academic excellence in education.

The SchoolSearch 2013 Bright A+ Award is given to districts where students’ academic performance ranks in the top five percent of Illinois districts based on the 2012 Illinois School Report Cards. Geneva is one of only 60 school districts in Illinois to be recognized this year by SchoolSearch. There are 866 school districts in Illinois.

Geneva School District has received this award annually since 2007.

“We are very pleased to again receive this recognition,” said Superintendent Dr. Kent Mutchler. “This award reflects high expectations and the importance of quality staff doing excellent work and caring parents working together to help all of our students succeed.”

SchoolSearch is an educational research and consulting firm that publishes online rankings of school systems to assist relocating families.

This spring, Geneva School District also received from SchoolSearch the 2013 Bright Red Apple Award of Excellence. This award is given to school districts based on academic performance, pupil/teacher ratio, expenditure per pupil, educational level of teachers, and average teacher salary. Geneva School District has received this award every year since 2005.
