Geneva Aldermen Recommend Amendments to City's Weapons Laws
One measure would make it illegal to discharge a firearm or air gun within the city limits.

Geneva officials did some city code “housecleaning” Monday when it came to ordinances dealing with firearms.
Aldermen unanimously recommended approving an amendment that outlaws the discharge of firearms and air guns—including BB rifles—in the city limits, according to a Kane County Chronicle report.

They also recommended an amendment that allows drivers to carry a concealed weapon so long as they’re licensed to do so, the report stated. This measure was to bring Geneva ordinances up to speed with the state’s concealed carry laws, the report added.
The penalty for violating the weapons discharge ordinance could range anywhere from a warning to a $750 fine, the report stated.
