Geneva Fire Department Responds To Employee Injured In Industrial Accident

The Geneva Fire Department responded to a call of an employee trapped in a machine at 6:28 a.m. Oct. 25 at Power Packaging, 2089 Pillsbury Drive.

Plant personnel informed initial arriving firefighters that a woman had been trapped in a conveyor belt assembly. The company’s maintenance staff was successful in disassembling the machine and removing the woman prior to the arrival of the Fire Department.

The employee was treated at the scene by the Geneva Fire Department and transferred to a medical helicopter, which transported the woman to an area Level 1 trauma center for further treatment. There is no additional information on the patient’s condition or extent of her injuries.
