Geneva Flag Lowered After Death Of Local Alderman
Ron Singer, 89, who died Thursday, represented Geneva's fourth ward on City Council from 1997 to 2017.

GENEVA, IL — In memory of former Alderman Ron Singer, who died Thursday, the Geneva flag at City Hall has been lowered to half mast.
A retired teacher, Singer represented Geneva’s fourth ward on City Council from 1997 to 2017.
His contributions extended beyond Geneva and into Kane County. He served on the Central Kane County TRIAD and was senior vice commander of American Legion Geneva Post 75, vice chairman of the Ride in Kane program and vice chairman of the Tri-City Ambulance program.

In his spare time, Singer volunteered at the Geneva-based Northern Illinois Food Pantry.
“The City of Geneva expresses its condolences to the Singer family on their loss,” officials said in a Friday news release.

While specific funeral details have yet to be announced, services are being planned through Malone’s Funeral Home.
