Geneva Park District's Fitness Centers To Host Open House
Visitors can check out Sunset Community Center and Stephen D. Persinger Recreation Center to learn about offerings and enjoy a free workout.
GENEVA, IL — Geneva Park District will host an open house for its two fitness centers Saturday.
Community members can visit Sunset Community Center, 710 Western Ave., and Stephen D. Persinger Recreation Center, 3507 Kaneville Road, to meet staff, learn about offerings, and enjoy a free workout and refreshments.
Although officials say both fitness centers have excellent service, motivational staff, modern equipment and spacious locker rooms, locals are still encouraged to check both locations out to decide between their unique offerings.

"Our hope is that this opportunity gives our community a sneak peek at the variety of health and wellness options available at BestLife Fitness," Superintendent of Recreation Elliott Bortner said in a statement. "This open house offers the unique chance to check out both locations and choose one that works best for your lifestyle."
Here's a look at the various offerings at both gyms.

Persinger Recreation Center
- Indoor walking and running track
- Gymnasium
- Steam rooms in the locker rooms
Sunset Community Center
- Functional fitness studio with TRX equipment, plyo boxes, slam balls, ropes, kettlebells and more
- Saunas in the locker rooms
- Racquetball court
Several membership options are also available at the Geneva Park District facilities. Adult memberships are for ages 18-59, while youth memberships are for ages 14-17 and senior memberships are for ages 60 and older. Couples are also able to join under one account if they reside in the same household.
Family memberships are also an option for parents and their own children ages 8-23, who must be full-time students. No one else can be included in the family plan, and kids must show proof of student status upon request, officials said.
"We look forward to welcoming prospective fitness members on Saturday," Bortner said.
