Geneva Recognizes Outgoing Alderman, Swears In New City Council Members

The city expressed its gratitude to several outgoing city council member during a recent meeting.

GENEVA, IL - The city of Geneva has three new faces joining the city council after winners of the April 4 consolidated election were officially sworn in May 1. Prior to the Oath of Office ceremony, the city expressed its gratitude to several outgoing city council members for their dedication to the community, according to a news release.

Officials completing their terms are Alderman Ron Singer, who served as an alderman from 1997 to 2017; Alderman Tom Simonian, who served from 2013 to 2017; Alderman Mary Seno, who served from 2014 to 2017; and City Clerk Lynn Landberg, who served from 1985 to 93 and from 2005 to 2017. The Honorable Allen Anderson, retired associate judge of the Illinois 16th Judicial Court, presided over the Oath of Office ceremony for seven officials that won four-year terms last month.
