If you are interested in helping an adult learn English, you will want to attend Literacy Volunteers Fox Valley’s free tutor training workshop. It will be held from 6:30-9 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, April 19, 21, 26, and 28 at the St. Charles Public Library. Attendance will be limited to achieve social distancing. Masks are optional.

Literacy Volunteers Fox Valley helps adults communicate in English by matching them with trained volunteer tutors who provide in-person or virtual lessons once each week. Currently, there are adults from Argentina, Bosnia, Columbia, India, Mexico, Venezuela, and Vietnam who are waiting to learn.

If you know English, you can teach English to a Fox Valley resident who needs to learn. Volunteers do not need teaching experience or a second language to be successful. The program provides material and instruction so anyone can help.
