Judge Allows Cameras in Geneva Doctor's Rape Case

Mark G. Lewis is accused of raping a woman in his St. Charles home, according to media reports.

Cameras will be allowed in the Kane County case against a Geneva doctor accused of sexually assaulting one of his patients, according to the Daily Herald.

A Kane County judge will determine during a hearing on Aug. 28 what types of restrictions to impose on photographers covering the case of Mark G. Lewis, 55, who worked as a physician at at American Family Doctor in Geneva when the allegations were filed against him, the Daily Herald reports.

Lewis, formerly of St. Charles and who now lives in the 200 block of Blackberry Drive in Geneva, was arrested in July at his practice and could face up to 30 years in prison if convicted on the most serious charge of aggravated criminal sexual assault, according to an earlier article on the Daily Herald.

He is accused of sexually assaulting a woman at his former St. Charles home following a party, according to the Chicago Tribune.
