Kane Co. Democratic Women Host Forum On Bias In Healthcare

The panel discussion on tackling "Implicit Bias in Healthcare" will be held on Saturday, Sept. 8.

The Kane County Democratic Women (KCDW) will host its third “Women & Power Speaker Series” with a panel discussion on “Tackling Implicit Bias in Healthcare,” on Saturday, Sept. 8 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Batavia Public Library, 10 S Batavia Ave, Batavia. Implicit bias refers to the attitudes or stereotypes that affect our understanding, actions, and decisions in an unconscious manner. These biases, which encompass both favorable and unfavorable assessments, are activated involuntarily and without an individual’s awareness or intentional control, according to a news release.

Attendees will learn how it relates to healthcare, and what steps can be taken to bring awareness to this problem.
