Lock Your Car Doors, Geneva Cops Say After Burglaries, Car Theft
Valuables and, in one incident, a vehicle were stolen this month on the city's west side.

GENEVA, IL — Keep those car doors locked. That's what police are telling residents after a series of car burglaries the weekend of Dec. 9 in the Pepper Valley and Fisher Farms subdivisions. In a news release, police said the burglaries resulted in missing valuables and, in one case, a stolen vehicle that was later recovered in Chicago, the DeKalb Daily Chronicle reported.
Most car burglaries are crimes of opportunity and can be prevented by locking your doors, police said.
Residents are also encouraged to report any suspicious activity they may notice to police, the Chronicle said.
