The trailer home in Batavia was destroyed by the blaze.

A 48-year-old man was injured when he tried to remove clothing that caught fire in a dryer at a trailer home in Batavia on Thursday morning, fire officials said.

Firefighters were called to the blaze at 15 Oak Terrace Court in Batavia just before noon on Thursday. The blaze moved quickly from the dryer through the trailer home, according to a Bataiva Fire Department press release. The blaze was extinguished and fire crews were able to clear the scene after two hours at the trailer home.

The 48-year-old man told fire officials he attempted to remove the burning clothes from the dryer but the “smoke was too much for him to go back into,” according to the news release. He was injured and treated for smoke inhalation and a minor burn to one hand and then released.
