Motorcyclist, 70, Killed In Crash With Pickup Truck: Geneva Police
Officials anticipate charges to be issued to the 24-year-old pickup truck driver based on the preliminary investigation.
GENEVA, IL — A 70-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a crash with a pickup truck June 17 on Route 38, Geneva police said.
The Bloomingdale resident was riding a 2015 Harley Davidson motorcycle eastbound on Route 38 when a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado veered into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with the biker, officials said. The crash happened around 1:45 p.m. near the intersection with Crissey Avenue.
In their most recent update, police said it does not appear speed or alcohol played a role in the crash.

The motorcycle driver, who was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, was transported to Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital and was pronounced dead at 2:17 p.m.
A 24-year-old man from Aurora was driving the Silverado. He and the pickup truck's three other passengers were evaluated on the scene by paramedics. No injuries were reported, police said.

Officials anticipate charges to be issued based on the preliminary investigation. Police did not release the names of the drivers.
The crash is under investigation by the Geneva Police Department and the Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team.
