New Business in Geneva: Well Polished Nail Spa, World Martial Arts Academy Celebrate Grand Openings

Two new Geneva businesses celebrated grand openings this week.

The Geneva Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting Thursday, Sept. 27, at World Martial Arts Academy USA Inc./Going to My Happy Place Yoga, 316 Anderson Boulevard in Geneva. 

In attendance were Geneva Mayor Kevin Burns and Geneva Chamber of Commerce Membership Director Judy Carroll, who welcomed owners Laurie Milbourn and master Phil Acosta along with Grandmaster Ramon Ribay to their new location.

On Friday, Sept. 28, a similar group held a ribbon cutting at Well Polished Nail Spa, 228 S Third St. 

Owned by nail aficionado Megan Star, Well Polished is touted as the future of mani or pedi for women and men.

“I have sampled most every nail salon in the Chicagoland area and was not very impressed with what was out there.” Star said. “I opened Well Polished with myself, as a customer, in mind. I want to not only offer a luxurious atmosphere where my clients can relax, but also exceptional customer service.”
