NIU Student Injured in Shooting at Off-Campus Party: Police
Two have been arrested in connection with the shooting. The student was taken to a DeKalb hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A Northern Illinois University student was injured in a shooting at an off-campus party in DeKalb early Saturday, according to the Daily Chronicle.
The woman, police said, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Kishwaukee Community Hospital in DeKalb. She was at a party at an apartment in the 1000 block of Ridge Drive in DeKalb when a fight broke out. As people were leaving the apartment, a man pulled out a handgun and began firing at several people, according to a press release from the DeKalb Police Department.
Several shots were fired and the suspect then left the area in a vehicle. That vehicle was found by police but was unoccupied. Police also searched an apartment on Lincoln Highway and found a gun they believed was used during the shooting.

Police issued an arrest warrant for Maurice A. Williams following the shooting. Williams, 20, turned himself into police on Sunday. He is charged with with aggravated battery with a firearm, unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon and two counts of aggravated discharge, according to police.
Police also arrested Cordero Jackson, 20, with unlawful use of a weapon, obstruction of justice and possession of a firearm without a FOID card in connection with the shooting.

Both men were unable to post bail and are in custody.
There were students and non-students at the apartment party. Police were not releasing the name or age of the woman who was shot but NIU officials confirmed she was a student at the school, according to the Daily Chronicle.
