New Geneva Micro-Winery Seeks City Approval

The Geneva Plan Commission will meet Thursday to hear a Geneva resident's request to open a micro-winery and tasting room on South Third St.

GENEVA, IL — Geneva's Plan Commission will consider a request to allow a micro-winery to open in downtown Geneva during a public hearing Thursday. Geneva resident Brent Copstead is looking to open Geneva Winery in the coming months at a vacant space at 426 S. Third Street. The location is currently zoned for a retail or office business and Copstead is requesting an amendment to the planned unit development to allow him to run the winery and allow for the consumption of his wines at the site, according to city documents.

Copstead is looking to include a micro-winery, tasting room and retail wine shop at his business, according to city documents. A small area with outdoor seating is also proposed.
