1 Airlifted Following Kirk Road Crash: UPDATE
Authorities shut down a portion of Kirk Road following the crash, which happened during rush hour Wednesday.
GENEVA, IL — A 25-year-old woman was airlifted to the hospital following a two-vehicle crash during rush hour in Geneva Wednesday evening, authorities said. The collision occurred when a Ford pickup truck was turning from Old Kirk Road onto Kirk Road and was struck on the rear driver's side by a Dodge SUV.
The SUV had been headed north on Kirk Road, Sgt. Patrick Gengler, spokesman for the Kane County Sheriff's Office, told Patch.
"Traffic form Old Kirk has a stop sign, traffic on Kirk does not have any traffic control devices," Gengler wrote in an e-mail.

The driver of the truck, Jan Zurek, 63, of Chicago, was cited for failure to yield when turning left. He was treated and released at the scene.
The driver of the Dodge, Asha Stout, 25, of Cherry Valley, was airlifted to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove for treatment of injuries that are no considered life-threatening, Gengler said.

Kirk Road between Fabyan Parkway and State Street was closed for two hours following the crash, authorities said.
